  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Dr. Marshall Rule’s path into physical therapy began with a curiosity about human performance. As a high school senior who had developed a passion for strength training, he became fascinated by anatomy, biomechanics, and how the body produces and controls movement. That curiosity ultimately developed into a career focused on helping people move better, recover from injury, and return confidently to the activities that matter to them.

Dr. Rule earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos in 2023. Early in his career, he earned recognition as a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), reflecting his commitment to advanced clinical knowledge and excellence in orthopedic rehabilitation. He is also currently pursuing his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.

Dr. Rule treats a wide range of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, including neck and back pain, sports injuries, and complex post-surgical rehabilitation. His approach begins with a thorough examination to understand not only where a patient hurts, but what may be contributing to the problem. Treatment combines hands-on care, targeted exercise, and progressive loading, guided by the best available evidence and each patient’s individual goals.

Objective testing is an important part of his approach. Rather than progressing patients based solely on time, Dr. Rule uses measurable criteria to guide rehabilitation and help patients understand their progress. His goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to restore strength, movement, confidence, and the capacity to return to the activities they value.

Dr. Rule also serves as a clinical instructor for Doctor of Physical Therapy students, helping mentor the next generation of physical therapists.

Outside the clinic, Marshall enjoys spending time with his family and continues his strength training, which first sparked his interest in human movement and performance.
